After the second world war the russians took plans, machinery and tecnicians from Dresden to Kiev and set up there a factory to produce cameras and lenses like this one: copy of Contax III . They liked so much the concept that the Kiev 4 was in production till mid eighties ! When I went to St Petersburg of course that was my camera choice. There I bought a 35 mm lens also copy. This time, copy of the famous Biogon. Among serious collectores there is a lot of question marks about all these clones. They are priced far below its noble cousins. In use I consider this equipement top quality. But of course I was really hapy when I bought a real Contax III.
