Retina I (type 148) - Kodak - 1939/40
Small and reliable with folding lens this is a nice piece of engeneering. Compared to the Retina I type 141 this one has double exposure prevention. Curious enough this one has a pair of close-up lens and a table for distances. With so many cameras using ground glass at that time, why would somebody buy a Retina to do close-ups?. The lens is not coated but this is not a problem most of the times. If you want to see an explanation about what is a coating, have a look on my Super Ikonta B. |
